Thai is the most common language after English in Flinders, though only 18 people speak anything other than English at home, the 2021 Census found. On its own, no other language reaches one in 100. Nationally, a language other than English is at least twice as common.
The largest communities are small, but they're here: Thai, German and French.
In Hobart, the share speaking another language is more than double. Among Tasmania councils, Flinders ranks 26th.
Each bar uses the same count: residents who named another home language, over all residents.

2.0% is the share of all residents who reported a language other than English. The 59 who didn't answer aren't counted as speakers. If they were, the share would be 8.5%; among respondents alone it's 2.1%.
National totals here run slightly under ABS published figures, because summing suburbs misses people without a usual address. Broad ABS categories count in the totals but not in the ranked lists.
