Multicultural research grounded in community

On-the-ground engagement, co-design, and culturally-informed consultation for organisations working with CALD communities across Australia.
Trusted by Australia's best
WHAT WE DO

We conduct qualitative and quantitative research with Australia's culturally and linguistically diverse communities on behalf of government agencies, health organisations, and social services. Our research informs communication strategy, campaign design and community engagement planning.

Every project is led by researchers with cultural and linguistic connections to the communities being studied. We do not outsource this work to generalist researchers.

Our approach

LEXIGO's approach to multicultural research is informed by our propritary Native Experience (NX) Marketing framework, introduced in The Authenticity Advantage by Mark Saba. The framework establishes three phases for authentic multicultural communication: Think—Design—Go. Research sits at the heart of the Think phase, because you cannot design communication that resonates with an audience you do not genuinely understand.

Our Services
  • Audience profiling: We identify exactly who you need to reach, drawing on data, community organisation networks and primary research. That includes language, English proficiency, country of birth, settlement patterns and the cultural values and communication preferences that shape how your audience receives information.
  • Focus groups and in-depth interviews: Structured qualitative research conducted in-language with community members. We explore lived experiences, barriers to access, attitudes toward your organisation and responses to draft communications or campaign concepts. Sessions are facilitated by bicultural researchers fluent in the target language.
  • Surveys and quantitative research: Large-scale data collection across specific language communities to validate qualitative findings, measure awareness or track behavioural change over time.
  • Community consultation and co-design: Structured consultation processes that bring community members into the design of your communications or programs. This is not tokenistic engagement. It is a rigorous process that produces evidence-based recommendations and builds trust with the communities you serve.
  • Concept testing and community validation: Before you launch, we test your campaign concepts, key messages, and creative assets with target community members to identify what resonates, what risks cultural misreading and what needs refinement.
  • Strategy development: Research findings translated into a clear, actionable multicultural communications strategy. Includes audience segmentation, channel recommendations, language prioritisation and a phased implementation plan.
What sets us apart
  • We wrote the framework. The NX Marketing framework, which underpins how leading organisations approach multicultural research and community co-design in Australia, was developed by LEXIGO. Our research practice is not adapted from a generic qualitative methodology. It is purpose-built for multicultural communication contexts.
  • In-language research, not translated research. Focus groups and interviews are conducted in the community's language by bicultural researchers. Translating research instruments after the fact introduces bias and misses nuance.
  • Research that leads to action. Every engagement produces a clear report with thematic analysis, audience insights, and specific recommendations for your communication strategy. We do not deliver raw data without context.
  • Triple ISO certified: ISO 17100, ISO 27001, ISO 9001. The same standards that govern our translation work apply to how we handle community data and research outputs.
