Translation Services and Multicultural Communication for Australia. More than five million Australians go home to a language other than English. Whoever you need to reach, we help you connect with them in language, in culture and in context. LEXIGO is Australia's NAATI endorsed, triple ISO-certified translation and multicultural communications agency. Founded in Melbourne in 2011 on a straightforward observation: Australia was already one of the most linguistically diverse countries on earth, and almost every organisation in it was communicating as though that weren't true.

Fifteen years on, those languages number more than 300, and nearly half the population was born overseas or has a parent who was (ABS Census 2021). The observation holds. The gap has narrowed, but it hasn't closed.

What we do

We work across four connected services: translation, multicultural communication, multicultural research and language technology. Most clients arrive needing one and stay for two.

The range runs from a single birth certificate for a partner visa to a national public health campaign across 12 language groups. What connects them is that somebody at the other end needs to understand something, and English wasn't going to do it.

How we work

We're triple ISO certified: 17100 for translation quality, 27001 for information security and 9001 for quality management. We're a NAATI endorsed language service provider, LSP950085. Our network covers 171 languages and more than 10,000 vetted translators, every one of them working into their native language.

Those are the credentials. What they mean day to day is that a second qualified linguist revises every translation before it reaches you, that your content is handled inside an audited security regime, and that the terminology decisions made on your account in 2018 are still being applied this month.

We work from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Hobart, with more than 50 government departments and agencies among our clients.

What we believe

Communication is culture and culture is communication.

You cannot separate the two and expect either to work. A message translated accurately into a language, without any grasp of who speaks it and what they already believe, is a document rather than a communication. Most in-language content that fails, fails there rather than at the translation.

Our founder Mark Saba set out the thinking behind this in The Authenticity Advantage, free to read online. The manifesto is the short version.

The work

A national public health campaign for the Department of Health and Aged Care, community-led across 12 language groups, named a finalist for Agency Campaign of the Year at the NSW Premier's Multicultural Communication Awards. Rapid response communication for the Department of Home Affairs across 63 languages. A decade-long translation partnership with Uniting spanning 550 services in New South Wales and the ACT.
