Brand guidelines

How to name, describe and show LEXIGO correctly. These guidelines cover our boilerplate, credentials, logo, colours, type and writing style, with files to download. They’re for our staff, partners, clients, media and the designers who work with us.

Who are these guidelines for?

Anyone who names, describes or shows LEXIGO. Start with the part that matches what you're making.

How should you describe LEXIGO?

Use these words as they are. They're the same descriptions our website and search listings carry, so every mention of us agrees.

Writing our name

  • LEXIGONot: Lexigo, LexiGo, Lexigo.comAlways in capitals, in every sentence.
  • LEXIGO’s teamNot: LEXIGOs teamThe possessive takes an apostrophe.
  • LEXIGO Global Pty LtdNot: Lexigo Pty LtdThe legal name, for contracts and invoices only.

How do you state our credentials correctly?

Our credentials are the claims buyers check first, so the wording matters. Each one has an exact form.

LEXIGO is a NAATI Endorsed language service provider (LSP950085).

Not: LEXIGO is NAATI certified. LEXIGO is NAATI accredited.

Endorsement is the organisation’s credential, and it always carries the number.

NAATI certified translators. A NAATI certified translation.

Not: NAATI accredited translators.

“Certified” is for translators and the documents they produce. NAATI retired “accredited”.

Certified to ISO 17100, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.

Not: ISO approved. Certified by ISO.

ISO writes the standards. An independent body audits us against them.

An Australian specialist translation services and multicultural communications agency.

Not: Australia’s specialist. Australia’s leading. Australia’s NAATI Endorsed provider.

We describe what we are, not where we rank.

Our endorsement can be checked on the NAATI register, and we supply current ISO certificates on request. See ISO certified translation and partners and memberships.

What do we call our services?

Four names, used exactly as written. Each service has a colour it's identified by, on its card, chip or rule.

  • Translation services & solutions

    Field

  • Multicultural communication

    Bloom

  • Multicultural research

    Specimen Yellow

  • Language technology

    Ink, with no accent

LEXIGO doesn’t provide interpreting. If someone asks, refer them to our partner Connecting Now.

What are the brand colours?

Eight colours, and only eight. The page is Page Cream, the text is Ink and Signal Blue means action. The other five are accents and grounds.

  • Page Cream
    HEX
    #E8E5DE
    RGB
    232, 229, 222
    CMYK
    7, 7, 11, 0
    Pantone
    7527 C

The page, and reverse type on dark grounds. Use it where you would reach for white.

  • Ink
    HEX
    #1E1B1A
    RGB
    30, 27, 26
    CMYK
    70, 70, 70, 85
    Pantone
    Black 6 C

Text on every pale ground, and the logo on light backgrounds.

  • Signal Blue
    HEX
    #044AB3
    RGB
    4, 74, 179
    CMYK
    Being re-specified
    Pantone
    Being re-specified

Action: links, focus and selected states. Keep it to type, rules and small marks.

  • Field
    HEX
    #8DDFB7
    RGB
    141, 223, 183
    CMYK
    40, 0, 35, 0
    Pantone
    345 C

Accent, and the colour of translation services and solutions.

  • Bloom
    HEX
    #F4A5ED
    RGB
    244, 165, 237
    CMYK
    0, 40, 0, 0
    Pantone
    230 C

Accent, and the colour of multicultural communication.

  • Specimen Yellow
    HEX
    #F5E26C
    RGB
    245, 226, 108
    CMYK
    5, 7, 70, 0
    Pantone
    100 C

Accent, and the colour of multicultural research.

  • Shadow
    HEX
    #332F2E
    RGB
    51, 47, 46
    CMYK
    65, 65, 65, 70
    Pantone
    Black 3 C

A second dark ground, for a dark panel that sits beside an Ink one.

  • Stone
    HEX
    #8F827C
    RGB
    143, 130, 124
    CMYK
    40, 45, 45, 20
    Pantone
    7531 C

A material, not a text colour: rules, borders and large flat shapes.

Pairing colours

  • Ink on any pale ground is always safe. It clears AAA contrast on Page Cream, Field, Bloom and Specimen Yellow.
  • Reverse type is Page Cream, on Ink, Shadow or Signal Blue only. White isn’t a brand colour, so don’t use it.
  • Don’t set Signal Blue text on Bloom. It falls below the contrast body text needs; use Ink with an underline instead.
  • Never put a pale colour on another pale colour, as text or as touching panels. Separate them with a rule.
  • Stone isn’t a text colour on any pale ground. Ink on Stone works for a short label, not for a paragraph.
  • Colours are flat fills. Don’t tint them, blend them or run a gradient between two of them.

Which typefaces does LEXIGO use?

Four typefaces, each with one job. Where they aren't installed, as in Word or PowerPoint, use the fallback beside each one.

    Fallback: Georgia

In language, in culture and in context.

  • Mori

Body text, labels and everything that isn’t a heading.

    Fallback: Arial

  • Familjen Grotesk

    Small uppercase labels only.

    Fallback: Arial, in capitals

    The Authenticity Advantage

The typefaces are licensed to LEXIGO and aren’t distributed from this page. If you’re producing designed material for us, email hi@lexigo.com for the files and their licence terms.

How does LEXIGO write?

The same way in a tender, a post and an email. These rules apply to anything published under our name.

  • Specific

A number, a name or an example beats an adjective. “171 languages” says more than “a wide range of languages”.

  • Plain

Write the way you’d explain it across a table. Short sentences, everyday words, and contractions in prose.

  • Confident, not loud

State what we do and let the credentials carry the weight. No superlatives, no exclamation marks.

  • Respectful

We write about communities, not at them. Name languages and communities accurately and avoid broad labels where a specific one exists.

Spelling
Australian English: organisation, localisation, colour, program.
Headings
Sentence case, everywhere. Capitalise only the first word and proper nouns.
Dashes
No em dashes. Use a comma, a colon or a full stop.
Contractions
Yes, in prose: we’re, don’t, it’s. Leave them out of legal text.
Buttons and links
Say what the click does: “Get a quote for Vietnamese translation”.
Numbers
Numerals for every statistic, with its source beside it. A specific number over an adjective.
Punctuation
No exclamation marks and no emoji in brand copy.
Interpreting
LEXIGO doesn’t provide interpreting. Don’t list it as a service; refer to our partner instead.

How can partners use the LEXIGO brand?

Partners, clients and event organisers are welcome to show our logo where we've worked together. Follow these rules, and check with us first for anything public.

  1. Use the files on this page. Don’t copy the logo from a screenshot or a website.
  2. Set the two logos at equal visual weight, side by side, separated by a thin vertical rule in Ink or Page Cream.
  3. Keep the clear space around each logo. The rule sits in the middle of the gap.
  4. Describe the relationship as it is: a partner, a supplier or a member. Don’t imply an endorsement we haven’t given.
  5. Send us the artwork before it’s published, for anything printed, broadcast or shown to the public.
  6. Credentials belong to the bodies that issue them. NAATI and ISO marks come from those bodies, under their own rules, not from this page.

Send artwork for approval, or ask for a format that isn’t here, at hi@lexigo.com.

Where can you download the logo files?

Vector SVG for anything that scales, and transparent PNG, 2400 pixels wide, for everything else.
