Childcare providers, services, and educators across Australia are required to understand and meet their obligations under Family Assistance Law. For the Department of Education, ensuring compliance meant ensuring comprehension — and that meant making complex legislative content genuinely accessible to the culturally and linguistically diverse professionals working across the sector.
The existing educational video series was only available in English, which left a significant portion of the workforce unable to fully engage with the material. The Department needed more than subtitles or dubbed audio — they needed a partner who could handle the full multimedia production pipeline across multiple languages while maintaining the precision that legislative content demands.
The project gave CALD childcare providers and educators equal access to critical legislative information for the first time, removing a barrier that had left many professionals reliant on informal interpretation or incomplete understanding of their obligations.
By handling the full production chain — from certified translation through voiceover recording, captioning, and video editing — LEXIGO delivered a turnkey solution that the Department could publish directly without additional post-production work. The approach established a repeatable model for future multilingual video content, positioning the Department to extend the same level of accessibility across other educational resources.
LEXIGO delivered a comprehensive multilingual multimedia project spanning 11 languages, including Amharic, Arabic, Assyrian, Dari, Dinka, French, Hazaragi, Nuer, and Somali. Every translation was completed by NAATI-certified translators to ensure accuracy and meet government standards.
The scope went well beyond written translation. LEXIGO managed the full production workflow — sourcing professional voiceover talent for each language, producing closed captions for accessibility, and editing the final videos to seamlessly integrate voiceovers and subtitles with the original content.
Throughout the project, LEXIGO worked closely with the Department's production and media teams, providing cultural guidance on language choices and anticipating additional translation needs as the series evolved. The result was a set of polished, publication-ready videos that felt native in every language rather than retrofitted from an English original.
